These terms govern your use of KalmDown, a self-help coaching app operated by an independent developer based in Washington, USA (“KalmDown”, “we”, “us”). By using KalmDown, you agree to them.

Not medical or mental-health care

KalmDown is a self-help and educational coaching tool for reducing digital-habit dependence. It is not a medical device, not treatment, and not a substitute for professional care. zeno is an AI, not a therapist, doctor, or crisis counselor. Nothing in the app is medical, psychological, or professional advice, and using KalmDown creates no therapist-, physician-, or counselor–client relationship. zeno’s responses are AI-generated and may be wrong.

In an emergency

KalmDown is not for emergencies. If you’re thinking about harming yourself or are in danger, contact real human help now: in the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 24/7) or call 911. Outside the US, contact your local emergency services or crisis line.

Assumption of risk

You use KalmDown at your own risk and are responsible for your own decisions and wellbeing. The lock features are designed to add friction to impulses, not to be an inescapable restraint; your device always keeps its own recovery paths.

As-is, no warranty

KalmDown is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KalmDown is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, for most users, is zero.

Donations

Donations are voluntary, processed by a third-party platform (Ko-fi, using Stripe) — we never see or store your payment details. Donations are non-refundable, not tax-deductible, and buy no additional service, feature, or guarantee.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use KalmDown.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and the control you have over it, and forms part of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of KalmDown after a change means you accept the updated terms.
