Can I really not unlock early?

It's not that we stop you — it's that you don't know how. KalmDown picks the passcode and reads it to you one character at a time as you type it in; you never see the whole thing and can't reconstruct it. When you're tempted to undo it, there's nothing to type. (And if you rotate a code by mistake, KalmDown keeps the history so you're never truly locked out for good.)

What if I need in? Am I stuck?

KalmDown has no early unlock — it doesn't know your code and won't hand it back. But it's not a prison, and we won't pretend it is. Your device always has its own recovery path; it's just deliberately slow and non-trivial. That's the whole design: KalmDown can't stop a determined adult, and it isn't trying to. It removes the impulsive route — the 11pm, one-tap, don't-think-about-it route. If you're willing to sit through a slow, deliberate recovery, you were never acting on an urge anymore. You were choosing.

Is my recording and my data private?

Yes — and it's built in, not promised. Your chats, voice, and codes are encrypted at rest, scoped to your account, and never sold, scored, or shared. Delete your account and every trace goes with it.

Does it work for Instagram, short video, games — anything specific?

Yes. KalmDown works at the level of the habit, not the app — the coaching and the lock don't care what you're quitting.

What if I slip?

Nothing happens. No penalty, no broken streak, no lecture. Slips are signal, not failure. Come back.
